ABOUT NIGERIA
Nigeria is in West Africa, and has the largest total population of all African countries, consisting of 36 States with its current capital in Abuja, also called Federal Capital Territory. It is made up of different ethnic groups with diverse cultures. It is about one-and-a-half times as large as the state of Texas and extends northwards to 14°N. It is bordered by Benin on the west, Niger on the north, and Cameroon on the east.
The former capital of Nigeria which used to be Lagos, until 1991 is the venue for the Healing School May Session 2008.
Lagos is Nigeria’s largest city, and also its single largest commercial centre. It is highly urban with accessible road networks. Also, it is located on four principal Islands and adjacent parts of the Lagos mainland. The Islands are connected to each other and to the mainlands by bridges and landfills.
